Your lessons are all about you! I customize the curriculum for each student based on their stylistic preferences, level, and goals. I emphasize proper technique, showing you not just what to practice, but HOW to practice. Expect to learn songs and solos of your choosing, improvisation, songwriting, ear training, and recording! If you're interested, we can get into advanced guitar techniques, such as alternate picking, economy picking, hybrid picking, tapping, sweep picking, legato, and more!

Ben is a solid guitar teacher. I've been getting lessons from him for about 10 months and my guitar playing is noticeably better. I recommend starting out with one of his 4 packs to give him the chance to gauge your skill level and to cater to your needs. He has plenty of material for generic lessons if you don't have any questions, but he really excels at identifying any problems you may be experiencing and also tips and tricks to fix them. I can't recommend him enough. Give him a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Recently started lessons with Ben. I have been playing for quite some time, on and off for several decades, a few different styles. I find it hard to stay focused and centered on one thing at a time and Ben helps wrangle that tendency into focused sessions with all the resources I need to practice efficiently and effectively. Ben has been an incredible teacher. I have played guitar for 20 years and felt like I hadn't improved for the last 10. Ben has been able to help me learn new techniques for practicing, learning songs and improving in ways that I never thought I could have learned. He has been crucial to me learning the skills to work through songs I've always wanted to learn but never known how to do it. Some of my favorite things I've learned from him are Theory - Scales and modes. I've always wanted to learn how to improv solo in ways beyond the pentatonic scale. I'm not there yet, but I'm miles ahead of where I was before I started lessons from Ben. Sweep picking is something I've never been able to pick up as cleanly as I've wanted. He's been crucial in helping me get the technique dialed in and begin doing it right.

Working with Ben is great 💥 I went through some phases throughout the lessons and we were always able to cover ground in the actual lesson and then Ben would usually have helpful supplemental material to send after. We did technical stuff with picking and certain scales, some theory as applied to song writing, different tunings and intuition around that, anytime I had a song I wanted to learn Ben was able to find or draft the music for ... honestly whether I was focused on a goal or a bit more flavor the week I always got a lot out of the lessons.
