What you can learn
My first priority is of course making the lessons fun and engaging! For electric bass, I focus a lot on groove, feel and tone. I think it's really important to be able to play along with tracks and songs, internalize the beat and lock in with the pulse. I cater to my students' taste in music but I also implore them to listen to genres that they might not necessarily be as familiar with. I emphasize learning basic music theory as well, which is very helpful when navigating the instrument.
